5 Ways To Reuse Your Santa Hat…
Here at Inca, we are always looking for new ways to reduce our impact on the environment as much as we possibly can. We’re not perfect, but we are committed to making changes, and have been taking a few steps in the right direction… We have reduced the amount of plastic that we use in our packaging, we dispatch all of our orders in recycled boxes using all recyclable tape and stickers, and we are also part of a tree planting scheme to help offset our carbon footprint.
We sold around 200,000 Santa hats last year, which got us thinking - what do people do with them after the big day? If you don’t need to pack it away for next year, here are 5 ways to reuse your santa hat, as suggested by the Inca office team...
1. Use it as a plastic free alternative for lining your hanging baskets.
2. Try growing cress. To make cress heads, cut the fabric into small pieces about the size of a 50p coin and place inside an empty egg shell. Then simply sprinkle cress seeds onto the fabric, water, and then place on a warm and light place, such as a windowsill.
3. Cut into dusters which can then be washed and reused multiple times.
4. Make into bunting by cutting down each side of the hat so that you have 2 large triangle shapes. The base of these triangles can then be sewn or glued onto ribbon to make bunting.
5. Make your santa hat into a small Christmas stocking by sewing a loop of ribbon onto the opening of the hat. Hang from any hook, and fill with little gifts. Perfect for pets!
